ACID AND ALKALINE ZINC
Zinc plating is a metallic coating of zinc, made by electrolytic bath, which is given on metal parts. It serves to increase its resistance to oxidation, corrosion or wear. In Plating we have 2 types of coating based on zinc: Acid Zinc and Alkaline Zinc.
ACID ZINC
Acid zinc is a coating based on zinc, in an acid tank, with an electrolytic process.
Zinc acid has a brighter finish than alkaline zinc although the uniformity of the thickness has to vary a little at different points. Normally it has more decorative purposes.
Our zinc acid process is in our barrel line with trivalent chromate finishes.
ALKALINE ZINC
The alkaline zinc is a coating based on zinc, in a soda tank, with an electrolytic process.
The alkaline zinc has a more opaque finish than the acid zinc, although the uniformity of the thickness has to be more even.
Our alkaline zinc process in our rack line with trivalent chromate finishes.
